Annual report 2023

In 2023, the Theodora Foundation had the pleasure of celebrating 30 years of activity. This anniversary highlighted once again the importance of the Giggle Doctors’ presence with children in hospitals and those in specialist care centers. In addition to blowing out 30 candles, the Foundation reached another significant milestone: 2 million individual visits to children. Throughout 2023, Theodora’s artists conducted approximately 115,900 individual visits across 59 institutions throughout Switzerland, as part of the following six programs.

Simultaneously, the Theodora Foundation expanded its reach with the introduction of a new program: “Emergency Giggles” was officially launched at the beginning of 2023 in 5 hospitals and will be introduced in 3 more hospitals in 2024 due to its success.

Driven by a quest for excellence, the Theodora Foundation has taken another step towards the professionalization of the Giggle Doctors’ training. At the end of 2023, the Foundation recruited 10 new artists who will be trained throughout 2024.
