«Much more than Laughter» – The first song of the Theodora Foundation

With «Vill meh als Lache» / «Bien plus que des rires» (Much more than Laughter), the Theodora Foundation presents its first own song in Swiss-German and French – a heartfelt musical project that reflects the valuable work of the Giggle Doctors.

It tells of the magical moments that children in hospitals and specialist care centre experience when music, poetry and creativity transform sadness into joy.

The tune came into existence spontaneously: Simona Schlegel, Project Manager Communication, had a melody in her head during a sleepless night, which she arranged herself on the piano. Allies were quickly found: Dr Föhn provided the guitar accompaniment, while Dr Röff de Böff added a special touch with her hand organ and a self-written rap. Dr Tripp Trapp added a gentle ukulele voice, Dr Kiko enriched the song with percussion elements and Dr Kravat’ with his tenor vocals.

Eleven office employees, five Giggle Doctors and four children came together for the studio recordings, giving the song its special warmth. Music producer Chris Noth and a Freiburg studio supported the professional realisation.
