Multidisciplinary training

Before the artists can practise, they receive more than 200 hours of teaching during a one-year training in collaboration with the Institute and the College of Health “La Source”. This multidisciplinary training guarantees optimal collaboration with the medical staff.

Corinne Ghaber is a lecturer at the College of Health “La Source” in Lausanne. She has been preparing the Foundation’s aspiring Giggle Doctors to work in the hospital environment for more than 20 years. Read the interview with her.

This multidisciplinary training guarantees optimal collaboration with the medical staff, although the Giggle Doctors do not carry out any therapeutic activity.

Giggle doctors

Theodora Foundation Dr Adagio

Dr Adagio

Adagio is a speed term in music for slow and quiet songs, which fits Dr Adagio perfectly. He always has an instrument with him, either an accordion, a bass or a guitalele. Dr Adagio is happy when he can make music for others and with others.

Theodora Foundation Dr Ahoi

Dr Ahoi

The ship's captain Dr Ahoi loves to surprise the children with a delicious dose of naivety and kindness. He has many tricks up his sleeve – sometimes they go a bit wrong, then the little «sailors» help him.

Theodora Foundation Dr. Blumenwurz

Dr Blumenwurz

Dr Blumenwurz's hairstyle is like a root on her head and her costume is inspired by flowers. Her improvisations are quirky, poetic and sometimes a little crazy.

Dr Carusela from the Theodora Foundation

Dr Carusela

Dr Carusela loves to gallop around like a young pony. For her, there is always something exciting to discover and experience. She always has her pet monkey Robertina with her, with whom she performs wild acrobatics and likes to dive into the circus world. But what she likes best are imaginative, exciting, adventurous, brave, nice and colourful stories.

Theodora Foundation Dr Chapeau

Dr Chapeau

Dr Chapeau loves to jump, bounce, eat strawberries and go on dream trips. When a girl wistfully confessed to him that she had never been to the sea, he made a blue silk cloth become a vast ocean. The girl's eyes shone, you could almost see the reflection of the sea in them...

docteure Chaussette

Dr Chaussette

Dr Chaussette likes to laugh, at everything and especially at nothing. She loves to sing, dance, play, and most of all she likes funny or wonderful stories and the wildest fantasy scenarios. She even trains to become a fairy and fulfill everyone's wishes. And of course, she's committed to making sure the year has two summers.

docteure Chic

Dr Chic

A beret and sequin trainers, a floral dress – she's chic from head to toe. Her constant companions are: Léon the Lion, her telescopic spoon and rake, her lemon maracas and her kalimba.

Theodora Foundation Dr Chrüsimüsi

Dr Chrüsimüsi

Dr Chrüsimüsi comes from the world of miracles, from the world where whatever’s impossible is possible. She has everything in her head and loses it right away. She likes it when the hospital room turns into a spaceship, a desert island or a children's disco. In Chrüsimüsi's world, everything, absolutely everything is purple.

docteure Clafoutis

Dr Clafoutis

She loves the colour red, she is mischievous, a little clumsy, but most of all she loves to bake clafoutis... with kiwis, spinach, tuna, xylophones, marmosets, funny oddballs... and, of course, cherries!

Dr Cocobella

Dr Cocobella

Dr Cocobella loves music. She enchants both young and old with her smiley ukulele. Tschiga, Tschigo and Bubu, her funny animals made of everyday objects, accompany her wherever she goes. They greet children in hospital or allow them to lead them around on a leash in institutions for children with disabilities. Wow... now that's fun!

docteure Couette

Dr Couette

Dr Couette? Because of her ponytails? Or because she likes to take a nap? Accompanied by her mouse Lili, she takes everyone gently and cheerfully into her fantasy world. And who knows... maybe she will discover a ladybird between her toes?

docteure Didou

Dr Didou

A little mouse sits on her hat. It is her memory, whispering lots of stories to her. Dr Didou sometimes sings them, accompanied by her guitar. She lives on a tree, which she sprinkles with rainbow bubbles and where she picks colourful balloons, which she transforms depending on the encounter.
