A movie created by children in the hospital
For its new campaign, the Theodora Foundation and its Giggle Doctors offered hospitalized children the opportunity to participate in a creative workshop entitled “Behind the Curtain“. The workshop transformed their hospital room into the setting for a magical adventure that brought a film to life.
In June 2022, young patients from the Lucerne Children’s Hospital and the University Hospital of Vaud (CHUV) participated in the new creative workshop “Behind the Curtain”, in the presence of the Giggle Doctors of the Theodora Foundation. The children were asked to use their imagination to create a unique story… a story of a symbolic quest to find the stolen colors of the rainbow.
From this unprecedented approach came a documentary, which immerses us in the hospital environment, through the creative workshops led by the Dream Doctors; and a film, “Rosie and the Rainbow”, made from the children’s ideas.
Conceived as an experiment, “Behind the Curtain” is an immersion in the special relationship between the Giggle Doctors and hospitalized children, but also the proof that a child, whatever his situation, will always surprise us and see things differently. An invitation to escape.
